If the thought of eloping has ever crossed your mind, you should just do it! Don’t get me wrong, I love weddings and I love huge celebrations! But if that’s not calling you, then I say, go the elopement route.
Unlike weddings, elopements have no set events to follow that typically cater to the guests such as cocktail hour and a reception filled with a program. With elopements, you can plan your special day that is most meaningful to you. If you want to go hiking and see gorgeous views, by all means go do it. If you want to eat at a pizzeria after your ceremony do it. If you want your ceremony to be just you two at a waterfall, that’s possible! If you want to have just your close friends and family present instead of the distant aunty you know nothing about, you can! That’s the beauty of elopements! It’s whatever you want and can include who you want!
Take C & J for example! They decided to have a small ceremony at Kaimea Estates on Oahu with just their immediate family and then headed out to another location to take pictures of just them two. After, they headed out with their family to go eat and celebrate. Their day was absolutely beautiful because it’s exactly what they wanted! C & J got to focus on their love and celebrate it with the people that meant the most to them. And on the plus side I’m sure they saved some money and avoided stress which typically comes with a big wedding.
